Bonjourno SARDEGNA!

  bonjourno SARDEGNA!

and what a flag! Medieval, the St George's Cross and 4 Moor's heads.

It's been 10 days and since leaving Corsica and a new country calls for a new drink.

Ichnusa = footprint or sandal, which the shape of the island resembles. Tastes good too :)

The weather has improved! Summer just may have started. Arriving in the north from Corsica we have been crisscrossing our way down to the south where we are now. East coast to west through the rocky, rugged interior. So untouched. The drive has been a treat. Check out the photos ...
ongoing checkers duel ...

Far north east coast, Torre Del Porticiollo
A short wind blown walk from the campsite

hide and seek
NE coast Sardinia

at the top by the "Torre"

Torre Del Porticiollo. One of the 80 towers scattered along the Sardninian coast to defend their country, this one apparently against the Arabs.

WILDFLOWERS
Eucalyptus trees are also abundant! A country lacking water resources.

View over BOSA (north east coast) after the climb up to the tower.

Farm Stay PAULES, mmmmmmm

View from the camper at the farm stay. 4 day old chicks, calves, sheep, goats, dogs, donkeys ... kids had a ball. We of course loved the home made wine and cheese. Giovanni was an exceptional host!

CALA GONONE : Caves near Cala Luna, easts coast, one of THE most beautiful beaches in the area.

Cala Luna, a beach surrounded by limestone cliffs and wild pigs in the reeds behind the beach surprising random tourists :)

Free plums anyone?

Su Marmuri Caves

hillside living

The Carabinieri - of whom I managed to talk myself out of a fine :)

LACONI - beautiful town! Reknowned for the above saint. Park Aymerich was stunning. The waterfalls alone ...

Windmills at sunset

beachside camper spot! Accompanied by a full moon party until dawn half way down the beach :/

the things you find

our own little cove, southern coast

A NURAGHE Village. These villages are 3000 yrs old and nowhere else to find in the world. Fascinating. They are mazes of rooms with a well and a meeting hut. Made of stones up to 2 metres high. Rooftops were branches covered with clay.

Kai has been trying to catch one of these since arriving here, no luck yet ...

GIANT TOMBS of S'ENA & THOMES

SPRING - the most important one in Sardinia. They have managed to dive to 135 metres a few years ago. Water colour and visibility was amazing. 10 degrees!

The fine art of cycling downhill.
Face versus pavement 0:1

Family decisions before we bite into one of these!

Camper dinner :)

Arriverderci! until the next time. If all goes as planned we will be on the boat to Sicily in 5 days.
